Arts at CT Biz Expo in 7 Days!

Today's Artistic Tweetameter:

Masters and amateurs in any business need parameters – in 7 days we introduce da World to twee-tameter!

To Tweet or not to Tweet? That is the Question!

For the next 7 days I’ll be showing you how to write “Artistic Tweetameter”, so when you meet me in person at the CT Business Expo, you’ll be prepared to provide people with professionally produced poetic pitches for your own business (with help from yours truly and the Greater Hartford Arts Council). Oh yeah, we’re doing this for free on June 9, so no excuses not to try it!

First a little about Poetry:

The Greater Hartford Arts Council asked me to add some poetry to the CT Business Expo, because… I am the RapOet (also known as Self Suffice – album in stores now LOL), and when I’m not performing or recording, I’m teaching other people how to create written, spoken, or rapped… POETRY. One of the greatest poets ever was Shakespeare, known for his “Iambic Pentameter”.

Iambic means every couple of syllables were stressed in a natural speaking way (think of the coolest rapper in the world… then picture them performing in England… in the 1500s!)

Pentameter means 5 pairs of syllables (on each line of a poem)

So “Iambic Pentameter” is poetry having 5 pairs of cool sounding syllables per line.

“Tweetameter”, on the other hand, is a bit less fancy and a bit more “modern/fresh” (considering I just now invented it).

Now a little about Twitter:

Twitter is a way to tell the whole world (I repeat this is not private at all!) what you are doing at any given time of day… but you can’t use more than 140 characters to tell us what you’re doing. Tweets are automatically sent to myspace, facebook, and hundreds of other places, so Twitter is a great marketing tool for businesses (I repeat this is not a private tool for venting about what went wrong today with your friends… especially if you’re a business!). With a free twitter username and password, you can send these promotional “tweets” from your phone, computer, tablet, etc.

Now a little about the CT Business Expo:

There is a lot of good stuff I can say about the Expo, but this quote from the website is a good introduction,

The 2011 CT Business Expo will offer free educational seminars hosted by industry elite speakers and trainers. All of the educational seminars will be held in custom built classrooms on the show floor- providing convenience for attendees and maximum foot traffic for exhibitors. Duration of each seminar: 45 minutes
Basically, if you have a business, work for a business, or want to be in business… this event will be a GREAT INVESTMENT… especially since it’s FREE LOL!

Let’s put it all together:

I’m collaborating with the CT Business Expo and Greater Hartford Arts Council to help you exploit the marketing power of Twitter and the resources of the Business Expo in a fun, artistic way that will appeal to you and your customers, namely…

TWEETAMETER!

Tweetameter kind of rhymes with “we slam bigger” when you pronounce it.

Tweetameter is easier to write than both Shakespeare’s “Iambic Pentameter” and Longfellow’s “Trochaic Tetrameter” (WHAAAT!? Nevermind :) )

Tweetameter is the poetic (fun) use of words, to send the world a message using no more than 140 characters (including spaces). On June 9, 2011 within the Connecticut Convention Center located at 100 Columbus Boulevard in Hartford…

I (the RapOet) will be helping you use tweetameter to promote your business. What’s really cool, is that the Greater Hartford Arts Council and CT Business Expo (and me too) will be sending your Tweetameter to all of their followers (people who read their tweets every day). What’s more is… at the end of the day, your promotional tweetameter pitch will be included in our 1st annual Arts and Business Tweetameter Poem, where people will see it online for many months to come.

In other words…

You’re getting Free, Fun, Poetic Promotion for your Business (interested?)

Oh, one more thing…

For the next 7 days of counting down to the CT Business Expo, I’ll be posting secrets of how Successful Businesses…

use the same skills as Successful Rap Stars…

make customers feel the same way Rock Stars make feverishly fanatical fans feel…

and get customers to view each product/service as a Priceless Master piece

Peace,
The RapOet
